Vertia has been working as a partner with the construction company Fira on water damage assessment and restoration since 2019. The key factors behind this successful partnership are Vertia’s extremely fast response times, strong professional expertise, and ability to adapt to changing situations. 

Heikki Johansson works at Fira as a foreman in charge of the construction site. To date, he has collaborated with Fira on a total of three different construction sites. The work has included both surveying and drying out sites affected by old and new water damage. 

“Vertia has performed exceptionally well. After we called, they arrived quickly, and we received prompt guidance on how to proceed in the event of a claim. The chain of communication has never been broken; instead, we’ve always received updated guidance as circumstances changed,” says Johansson. 

“Vertia has also been able to recommend suitable partners for larger projects, such as the drainage work that goes on beneath the structure,” Johansson continues. 

Vertia handles the entire process, from assessment to drying

When water damage occurs, the construction site staff naturally strive to minimize the damage as much as possible before Vertia arrives on the scene. After that, Vertia takes charge of the situation.

– Vertia determines the necessary openings in the structures by assessing the situation with a surface moisture meter. After that, the structures are opened up based on their report, borehole measurements are taken, and drying begins. Once the moisture levels are within acceptable limits, restoration of the structures begins, Johansson explains the steps of the process.

Fast response times are important to Fira

Johansson cites a commitment to service as one of Vertia’s key strengths. 

“You can tell that Vertia’s employees are professionals. They don’t need to be taught how to do their jobs,” Johansson says.

– Another important factor is speed. When an emergency arises on a construction site, we don’t have to sit around waiting. Their response time has been as fast as 15–30 minutes, Johansson notes. 

“I can definitely recommend them,” Johansson says.
