Vertia, a Finnish company specializing in ensuring housing quality, has developed the BuildStat service, which enables construction companies to shorten construction time without compromising on quality.
BuildStat is a service designed for the construction industry that helps manage site conditions, predict the drying of structures, and monitor dust levels. At its core is user-friendly software that collects real-time data from construction sites using IoT sensors installed on-site and manual measurements.
Sensors installed throughout the building measure environmental and structural conditions such as temperature, humidity, and dust levels. The service monitors and analyzes data received from wireless sensors and other measurements. The user receives a clear and up-to-date overview of site conditions and the drying status, making it easy to draw conclusions.

The drying time of concrete can be cut in half
– BuildStat is a construction site management tool that identifies problem areas related to site conditions and curing at a glance. When site conditions are better managed, concrete curing, for example, can be accelerated by as much as 30–50%. At its best, this can lead to construction being completed up to several months faster, says Vertia’s CEO Topi Jokinen.
In addition to providing environmental data, the service can calculate and predict the drying time of structures in real time. The prediction is based on the structure’s properties and the measured environmental conditions.
– Environmental conditions are the biggest factor affecting the drying of structures. The service displays their impact on the drying time of structures in real time, allowing any necessary corrective measures to be taken in a timely manner.
Vertia also provides construction companies with the necessary installation and moisture measurement services, as well as—if required—a comprehensive service for managing drying and conditions throughout the entire construction site, from planning to implementation, including heating, humidity, and dust control.

Environmental data helps optimize production and equipment
– Our goal is to make BuildStat the most user-friendly and versatile service for managing site conditions, drying, and quality. “With it, construction companies will be able to, for example, manage heating and drying equipment on-site and improve their production processes using data collected from construction sites,” Jokinen explains.
Vertia has previously launched the Vertia Kanta service, which is open to the public and whose airtightness measurement statistics include results from over 10,000 new buildings surveyed by the company. In January, Vertia recognized the homebuilders that delivered the most airtight homes in 2024.
